Copy the Instagram link
Open the reel or video post. Tap Share, then Copy link. On a computer, copy the post’s address from your browser.
A reel worth keeping. Paste a public Instagram video link and save an MP4 to your device.
Preparing your video
Downloads stay available for one hour. Keep this tab open while your download is processing.
Availability depends on Instagram. Posts that require a login, private accounts, photos, and stories are not supported. Download only content you own or have permission to save.
Three steps, free in your browser.
Open the reel or video post. Tap Share, then Copy link. On a computer, copy the post’s address from your browser.
Choose Download video. We check the public post for available videos and show each one in the results.
When a video is ready, choose Save MP4. A post with several videos gives you a separate download for each available clip.
FunDownloader saves available video from public Instagram posts and reels. It accepts links containing /p/, /reel/, /reels/, or /tv/. Tracking parameters are removed before we process the link.
The file comes from the original post. We choose an available MP4 version up to 1080p; the source determines its resolution and audio. We do not increase the original quality or remove elements embedded in the video.
Instagram sometimes requires account access for a public post. If that happens, the tool shows an error. We do not ask for your Instagram password or support private content.
Use Safari and tap Save MP4. Open the browser’s downloads, or look in the Downloads folder in Files. From there, use Share to save the video to Photos if your device offers that option.
Open the page in your browser, download the MP4, and find it in Downloads using your file manager. Your browser may ask you to confirm the download.
Choose Save MP4 and select a folder if prompted. Otherwise, look in your browser’s default Downloads folder. Open the file in a video player.
Instagram links, files, and limits.
Yes, when the public reel has a video that Instagram makes available without signing in. Paste its full Instagram link into the form.
No. Private posts, login-required content, stories, profile links, and photo-only posts are not supported. We never request your account credentials.
The output is MP4, using an available source version up to 1080p. A lower-resolution original remains lower resolution. The file includes the source’s audio when it has audio.
Yes, up to 10 videos in one post. Each clip must be shorter than 15 minutes and no larger than 64 MB. Successful files together must fit within 256 MB. Photos in a mixed post do not become videos.
The post may be deleted, restricted, photo-only, or require a login. Instagram may also temporarily refuse requests. Check the original link and try another public video or try again later.
The tool is free and works in a recent browser with JavaScript enabled. Download links expire one hour after the job finishes and can expire sooner if the service restarts. Save your files while they are available.
Check Files or Downloads, rather than only Photos. If an in-app browser prevents saving, open this page in Safari or Chrome and use the post’s own link, not a profile link. On iPhone, see Apple’s guide to finding downloaded files.
